Thailand is a popular destination thanks to the fact that it offers good value for money, it has been suggested.

Commenting on recent Sainsbury's Travel Money statistics suggesting that the country has been a popular Easter destination this year, Jemma Purvis of Kuoni said Thailand tends to attract families because it is relatively cheap and many resorts offer child-friendly facilities.
"They will also be kept entertained by stunning beaches and amazing sights," she commented.
Some of the other popular Thai destinations include Koh Samui, Krabi, Pattaya and Phuket.
Buying cheap
holiday insurance could be a good way of lowering travel costs on a family getaway, especially as it can provide financial cover in case something goes wrong.
According to the Sainsbury's Travel Money study, sales of the Thai baht soared by 107 per cent just before the Easter break.
Other popular currencies included the United Arab Emirates dirham, the Canadian dollar and the euro, the research showed.
