Hua Hin has lots to keep visitors entertained.
People looking for an exotic holiday are increasingly visiting Thailand and the resorts it has to offer.
That is according to Chris Lee, trade marketing manager of the UK and Ireland office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, who said Hua Hin in particular is becoming a popular choice.
Improvements over the last few years have seen the area bolstered with boutique hotels, as well as more traditional accommodation such as the Sofitel Centara Grant Resort and the Anantara.
And it does not appear to matter what time of year holidaymakers land in Hua Hin, as Mr Lee explains it has the lowest annual rainfall of any Thai beach areas, although the coolest months are between November and March. But the Tourism Thailand website suggests taking holidays to the island of Koh Samui between June and September .
Holiday insurance policyholders keen to explore what the country has to offer could take a minivan and speedboat to Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park where "idyllic" sandy stretches lead to "an amazing cave, which contains a stunning statue of Buddha", according to Mr Lee. He dubs the experience "really memorable".
Meanwhile, a day could also be spent touring the elephant camps in the joungle close to Kanchanaburi. Historical sites are dotted around, while golf courses could provide entertainment for sports enthusiasts enjoying their trip.
Fans of the Leonardo DiCaprio movie The Beach might want to visit Maya Bay, off the Phi Phi islands where the filming took place.
