Texas has a lot to offer travellers who want an array of culture.
Travel insurance policyholders keen to enjoy a holiday with a difference could consider heading to Texas in the US.
Diana Stevie, European tourism co-ordinator at Texas Tourism, explains there is a strong overseas market in the state and many people are recognising its benefits.
She claims the area offers people "that little bit of Americana", although admits those on their first visit to the US might opt for New York or San Francisco as their initial destination.
"But we've really tried to position ourselves as a slice of heaven – Texas is by far the best place to find true, authentic cowboy culture," Ms Stevie continues.
The region is cosmopolitan and encompasses three of the country's largest cities, meaning there are a vast range of activities on offer.
And it plays a crucial role in the nation's history, allowing each individual to experience the effects of a range of cultures that have inhabited the state for the past 150 years.
Ms Stevie says this includes the native American type, cowboys and Mexican traditions.
German culture is also present, which may come as a surprise to some people, but this element is evident in the mariachi bands that carry accordions and a number of place names throughout Texas.
"It's truly still the melting pot for different cultures," the expert adds.
Her comments were made at London's World Travel Market, which runs annually and was held on November 7th-10th in the capital.
Those who are inspired to take a trip across the pond would be wise to have adequate travel insurance in place prior to doing so.
