Tenerife is gradually turning into the ideal destination for a luxury holiday, according to its tourist board.
Britons looking to go on a luxury holiday this
summer may want to head to Tenerife.
According to Javier Blanco from Tenerife Tourism, the island is shedding its image of a hotspot for drunken singles breaks and is now becoming more attractive to luxury holidaymakers.
"Tenerife offers everything from golf destinations to a huge variety of different hotels in exclusive locations, five-star hotels and small luxury country hotels," he remarked.
Some of the main attractions in Tenerife for tourists include the cities of San Cristobal de la Laguna and Santa Cruz, as well as the huge water park of Siam Park, he added.
Taking out
travel insurance could be a good idea for a holiday to the island, especially for those engaging in active pursuits like water sports.
Just over one million Britons visited Tenerife between January and September 2009, figures from Tenerife Tourism reveal.
Almost eight in ten of these holidaymakers had visited the island on a previous trip.
