Tenerife has plenty to offer, from watersports to museums.
Tourists visiting Tenerife can expect to find something to occupy them at all times of year.
Pia Louw, travel industry director at Tenerife Tourism Corporation, explains: "Tenerife is a year round destination with very little seasonality in terms of available activities and attractions on offer."
Those who want to catch the essentials should head to Teide National Park, which Ms Louw says is "striking".
The destination is a Unesco World Heritage Site and could offer visitors and interesting change from the relaxing by the poolside.
Individuals who want to stay active during their holiday can take boat trips to see the whales and dolphins that surround the island.
Nature reserves are abundant and there are also plenty of watersports to try out - including windsurfing.
Alternatively, Ms Louw suggests visiting Siam Park, which is named as a visitor favourite.
Travel insurance policyholders who want to cram some culture into their stay could head to the TEA Contemporary Art Museum or the Wind Cave, which is one of the largest lava tubes in Europe.
It is also possible to get an insight into local customs and traditions by taking a trip to one of the country's "sleepy villages", such as Garachico, the tourism expert advises.
Her comments follow searches on Skyscanner's website, which suggested Tenerife, Malage and Alicante have taken the top spots in Easter getaways.
There has been a hike in mid-haul and beach vacations as a result of the numerous bank holidays getting underway in April and one option may well be Tenerife.
