Tanzania 'one of the best countries for a safari'
Travel insurance customers looking to spend time on safari in Africa in the summer months should consider the national parks and conservation areas of Tanzania, according to the Irish Independent.
Boasting the globally-recognised Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the northern part of the country, holidaymakers will be treated to "an abundance of wildlife and beautiful scenery", the newspaper claimed.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area, sometimes referred to as the "eighth wonder of the world", covers a land area of 8,300 square kilometres and borders the Serengeti National Park to the north.
Homonid footprints dating back 3.6 million years have been discovered in the conservation area, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
According to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, some 50,000 people from Britain visit the country each year.
It advised holidaymakers to carry copies of their travel documents - such as passports - and ensure their travel insurance policy covers them for any activities they wish to participate in while on their trip.
