Take a trip back in time on holiday in Slovenia
A new attraction has opened to visitors allowing them to explore a series of tunnels and bunkers that were created to shelter Slovenian citizens during World War II.
Kranj, the fourth-largest city in Slovenia, began constructing the underground network more than 70 years ago.
One highlight of the guided tour, which costs just 3 (£2.59), is a 1,300-metre-long bunker which was used during the occupation of the country from 1944 until the war ended a year later during intense periods of attack.
Kranj is situated 20 kilometres from Slovenia's capital city Ljubljana, which until September 4th is hosting a summer festival.
Holders of European travel insurance may wish to attend an operatic performance from the Bolshoi Theatre or the Pink Floyd ballet, which are features of the event.
Visitors to the capital can now access a new city guide created especially to be accessed via a mobile phone from the tourist board.
