Take a "sophisticated" break in Blackpool
UK travel insurance customers wanting to take a traditional seaside break may wish to consider a "sophisticated" holiday in Blackpool, the tourist board has said.
"Beyond the tower, the piers and the sunshine there is an awful lot going on. There is the Sealife Centre, The Pleasure Beach [and] the Ballroom, which has a circus underneath," said a spokesperson for Visit Blackpool.
A new campaign to attract a more refined clientele has been launched for the resort entitled "J'aime la Tour" - comparing it to France.
Visit Blackpool reported it had the highest number of visitors in ten years during the 2009 Easter period and hopes the town will have a big part to play in the Year of the Great British Holiday.
Blackpool was one of the top-three most visited coastal resorts in the UK, according to the North-West Staying Visitor Survey 2007-08.
People taking a holiday at home may wish toensure their possessions are covered under a UK travel insurance policy.
Even if you’re travelling within the UK, holiday insurance from Direct Travel Insurance is still a sensible purchase as the expense of dealing with issues on a holiday can be costly in any country.
