Next month's South Devon Walking Festival offers the perfect opportunity to get some exercise while taking in beautiful coastal scenery.
Keen walkers might want to grab their boots for next month's South Devon Walking Festival.
Taking place between October 2nd and 11th, the annual event offers walks in a variety of locations for all ages.
South Devon is home to an officially recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - one of 41 such regions in Britain - and could therefore be the perfect setting for long walks.
Attendees could find themselves trekking through ancient battlefields, exploring nature reserves and wildlife habitats, or making their way down winding country lanes and along cliff tops.
This year's festival will also see walkers able to cover 76 miles of the South West Coast Path between Plymouth and Brixham over a six-day period - although trekkers may want to take out some
travel insurance in case of injury.
A local expert will lead each walk, offering interesting facts about each location in the process.
Even if you’re travelling within the UK, holiday insurance from Direct Travel Insurance is still a sensible purchase as the expense of dealing with issues on a holiday can be costly in any country.
