People looking for a diverse holiday destination might find Taiwan holds appeal.
Holidaymakers searching for a country with plenty of diverse culture to keep them entertained during the trip might want to follow one expert's advice to visit Taiwan.
Josephine Huang, marketing manager at the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, said the region boasts old and new traditions that are "full of variety".
"Merge these factors with the warm and welcoming nature of the Taiwanese and you have a unique and very special destination," she explained.
Arts activities and cultural endeavours are common, while cities are said to be "breathtaking" by Ms Huang, who also promises "exciting discoveries" in the municipal regions.
Food lovers can enjoy the myriad culinary offerings and authentic Chinese cuisine is touted by the official as a must-try when holidaying in Taiwan.
Rare wildlife might also make an appearance on some visitor's itineraries, proving there is much to entertain a variety of parties, no matter what their interests.
Single trip insurance policyholders may also wish to book a spot on one of the Tour Taiwan 100 excursions. A total of 100 activity-based and cultural expeditions have been arranged as part of a marketing push for Taiwan.
Biking, contemporary culture, hot springs, walking, religion, aboriginal tribes, eco-touring and innovative tours are all provided as part of the initiative, which aims to promote tourism opportunities across the county.
Meanwhile, Lonely Planet states the Taiwanese hot springs are among the best in the world and the island's cultural influences are unlike anywhere else on the globe.
