Sziget Festival 'one of Europe's best'

The Sziget Festival in Hungary has been named as one of the top 20 live music events in Europe.

Based on Obudai Island on the River Danube in Budapest, the six-day long event guarantees a "good time" to all those who visit, according to the Times, although the marathon party is "not for the faint hearted".

Well over 300,000 people travel to Sziget every year and similar numbers are expected again for 2009, although the line-up of bands has yet to be announced.

Several festivals in eastern Europe made the top 20 list, including B'estFest in Bucharest, Romania, Exit at Novi Sad, Serbia and Pahoda Festival in Trencin, Slovakia.

Western Europe was represented by Benicassim and Primavera Sound in Spain, Pink Pop in the Netherlands, Electric Picnic in Ireland and Eurockeennes in France.

Travel insurance seekers may be aware that several of the events also appeared in the Times' list of the 20 best summer music festivals for 2008.ADNFCR-2301-ID-19100555-ADNFCR
