It is vital that holidaymakers pick the right travel insurance when heading abroad, according to one expert.
Travellers must ensure they choose the right
holiday insurance for them when heading overseas, it has been advised.
According to Which? principal researcher Martyn Saville, it is "vital" that Britons pick a
travel insurance policy that is both competitively priced and provides decent cover.
His comments came after research from the John Lewis & Waitrose partnership card indicated that UK holidaymakers spent 25 per cent more on their getaways last month than they did in February 2009.
"While these figures are undoubtedly good news for the travel industry, consumers still want to get the most out of their money," Mr Saville explained.
The study also revealed that spending on airlines rose by 37 per cent in the 12 months to February, while the holidays themselves saw a 23 per cent expenditure boost.
Rome became the destination of choice for travellers, overtaking New York in the process.
The most searched-for Easter holiday destinations among Britons include London, Dubai, Barcelona, Budapest and Bangkok, according to a recent report from Trivago.co.uk.
