Spain 'becoming more popular among skiers'
British skiers are increasingly looking towards Spain for their skiing holidays, according to one expert.
Alyn Morgan, the Ski Club of Great Britain's information manager, stated that investment in Spanish resorts and the marketing of them to UK ski enthusiasts are attracting "more and more" people to the country's snowy peaks.
And this trend looks set to continue in the future, Mr Morgan said.
"I do expect that the Spanish market is going to keep growing as there is more interest from tour operators," he remarked.
Mr Morgan suggested that in some cases, Spanish resorts are cheaper than their European competitors and referred to one particularly attractive initiative in Cerler, where lift passes are refunded for anyone who has to wait longer than 15 minutes for a lift.
Highlighting the importance of travel insurance for skiing holidays, Insure & Go revealed this week that approximately 130,000 claims for injury or illness were made by those on ski trips last year.
