Football fans wanting to soak up the African atmosphere of the 2010 World Cup are being advised to make their arrangements well in advance.
With England's victory against Croatia guaranteeing their place in next year's football World Cup, South Africa is set to be a particularly popular tourist destination, it has been suggested.
ABTA - The Travel Association points out that demand for flights to South Africa will rise dramatically as the 2010 tournament approaches.
Furthermore, accommodation will be increasingly sought-after, as the organisation urges people to book transport and hotel arrangements well in advance.
But those without tickets for the tournament may still be able to enjoy the football atmosphere by making their way to South Africa.
Mark Tanzer, chief executive of ABTA, states: "This World Cup in South Africa will allow England fans the opportunity to visit one the world's most beautiful and welcoming countries."
Indeed, the organisation claims the country offers particularly good value for money and is one of the few destinations in the world where sterling is strong.
However, football fans are advised to keep a close eye on guidance from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and to seek medical advice to make sure they are fully inoculated against any infectious diseases.
The FCO recommends those visiting South Africa ensure they obtain comprehensive
travel insurance before leaving Britain and that such a policy covers them for the activities they wish to take part in.
