Cape Town and Kruger National Park are the most popular South African destinations for British holidaymakers, as people tend to combine a beach break and a safari in one trip, Rhino Africa said.
Anton De Wit of Rhino Africa commented: "Cape Town ... is a bit like Barcelona. You can do a normal safari without malaria issues and next year we are hosting the World Cup."
He added that South Africa's diverse attractions mean holidaymakers can enjoy "the whole world in one country".
British tourist arrivals in South Africa rose by 6.8 per cent in August 2009 compared with the same month last year, according to South African Tourism.
