One skiing region in Austria is a cul-de-sac worth visiting, it has been claimed.
Keen skiers may be interested in visiting what has been claimed to be the most beautiful cul-de-sac in the world.
According to the Austrian Tourist Office, the region of Kleinwalsertal is something of a "winter paradise" thanks to the fact that it harbours more than 120km of ski runs and 42km of cross-country ski trails.
It is surrounded by mountains over 2,000 metres in height on three sides, which could make for some spectacular views.
Those considering packing their bags and booking
ski insurance to visit the area might want to ensure they arrive in time for the Art on Snow 2009 event between December 12th and 19th.
Skiers will be able to view photographic and painted art exhibitions, take in snow sculptures and see live performances relating to snowboarding and its subculture at the Walserhaus in Hirschegg during this period.
Kleinwalsertal may also be an ideal summer holiday destination, with activities such as hiking and mountain biking on offer during the warmer months of the year.
