Looking for love on Valentine's Day? Visiting certain countries may increase travellers' chances of doing so, according to Skyscanner.
Travellers looking to head abroad to find love ahead of Valentine's Day should consider those countries where there is a high proportion of single people, according to one firm.
Skyscanner says that there are several nations where marriage rates are particularly low, suggesting that they may offer a better chance of finding the perfect match.
Examining marriage rate figures from the Economist's Pocket World in Figures, it reveals that Latin American nations such as Colombia, Venezuela, Peru and Argentina could be the best bets for holiday love.
"Latin America seems like the place to find love, with six of the top ten most unmarried people in central and South America," Skyscanner says.
Qatar, Slovenia, Chile, Panama, the United Arab Emirates and Andorra were also found to have a high number of single citizens - although holidaymakers visiting countries such as these may do well to take out
travel insurance first in case something goes wrong during their trip.
Earlier this month, TravelRepublic revealed that Valentine's breaks to Benidorm seem to be more popular than the classic romantic destinations of Paris, Rome and Venice among Britons buying holidays from the company.
