Iggy's has been nominated as one of the finest eateries in Asia.
Travellers who enjoy sampling the local cuisine while on holiday might want to schedule a break during their next trip to Singapore to visit Iggy's restaurant.
The eatery has been named as the best place to dine in Asia in the third annual edition of the regional Miele Guide, which lists some 450 restaurants in 17 countries in the continent.
Ignatius Chan, a well-known restaurateur and ambassador in the country, runs the dining spot and is likely to take credit for its European cuisine and "the unexpected delights to be found in food fused with elements from the east and west", according to the Singapore Tourism Board.
What's more, Iggy's is also listed in the top 20 of the San Pellegrino World's Best Restaurants and has been since the list was launched in 2004.
Iggy's was not the only Singaporean venue to make the top ten in the Miele Guide for 2010-11, as Jaan par Andre made its mark at number four, beaten by Robuchon a Galera and L'Atelier in Macau and Hong Kong respectively.
Indeed, travel insurance customers looking to enjoy a night out at any of the restaurants could do well to book in advance, as these accolades are sure to boost the popularity of their menus.
However, if Singapore is simply a stop-off point on a longer-haul journey, passengers might be pleased to hear the country's Changi airport has taken first prize in this year's Skytrax World Airport Awards.
Changi Airport Group's chief executive officer Lee Seow Hiang said: "Changi's success would not be possible without the affirmation, encouragement and feedback that we have received from our stakeholders, including the millions of passengers and visitors we serve every year."
