Tourists looking for somewhere interesting to take their next holiday, could sample what is on offer in Singapore.
People looking to soak up a bit of local culture when on their next holiday abroad might want to take one expert's advice to visit certain regions of Singapore.
Eunice Yeo, area director for northern and western Europe at the Singapore Tourism Board, said Katong and Joo Chiat in the region are "charming" and offer plenty to keep tourists entertained.
Shopping outlets, restaurants and architecture contribute to the "collection of Peranakan experiences" that travellers should endeavour to see.
Indeed, the official added that antiques are a popular product in the region, so anyone looking to purchase furniture, household goods or jewellery could find just what they need.
People travelling the city might find they can tailor its "concentration of sights, sounds, tastes, culture and attractions ... to reflect their own personal interests, likes and aspirations", Ms Yeo continued.
The new National Arts Gallery is a "must-see" - she went on to say - particularly for holidaymakers interested in Singapore's cultural heritage.
Local people also visit the attraction to enjoy visual arts and creative endeavours that are scheduled throughout the year - Ms Yeo concluded that the space was created "for the enrichment, enjoyment and engagement of Singaporeans and visitors from all over the world".
However, travel insurance policyholders looking for some fast-paced excitement might prefer to schedule their trip to coincide with the F1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix, which takes place from September 24th until the 26th. Mariah Carey, Daughtry, Adam Lambers and Missy Elliot will all perform as part of the event's entertainment offerings planned across the three days.
