Holidaymakers may be attracted to Sharm-el-Sheikh for a bit of sunshine this winter, according to one report.
Egypt's Sharm-el-Sheikh resort could be the perfect place to go for a spot of winter sun, it has been claimed.
The Daily Mail suggested the destination for people looking at holidays and
travel insurance throughout the winter months.
Recently identified as one of the top ten package holiday resorts, the Red Sea vacation spot has an "endless supply of sun and sand" and used to mainly appeal to tourists interested in scuba diving.
While it may be tempting to lie on the beach for the duration of a holiday, cultural attractions are also within reach, with some itineraries including trips to Cairo and the pyramids, or perhaps Aswan and a Nile cruise.
According to the publication, St Catherine's Monastery is a must-see while in the area, although activities such as camel riding and quad biking are available for more adventurous types.
The resort is also filled with "a range of attractively-priced" restaurants and bars, the news provider noted.
As the development of the region progresses, Sharm-el-Sheikh Bay, Naama Bay and Shark Bay, which are currently 6km apart, will eventually become one settlement, according to the Egyptian Tourist Office.
