Serbia has a lot to offer those who choose to travel to the interesting country.
Travel insurance policyholders might like to consider a break in Serbia, as the country is proving popular among many visitors from the UK.
According to Gordana Plamenec, chief executive officer of the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia, suggests figures for 2011 indicate growth in this area.
There has been an eight per cent rise in arrivals as a 25 per cent hike in bed nights, while the extended length of stays is now 2.8 days.
Britons should find it easy to get to their chosen location, as Belgrade airport has now boosted its activity by approximately 16 per cent and 30 international airlines are departing from and landing at the travel hub.
"Apart from festivals, we are continuing to work with our cultural itinerary, promoting sites all the way from historic times, from ancient Roman emperors through to hero monuments, monasteries and fortresses, as well as to contemporary art and museums," Ms Plamenec claims.
A city break in Belgrade has a lot to offer, while there are more than 1,000 events going on in the country every year.
But adrenaline-junkies might prefer to take an activity holiday, with possibilities such as cycling or hiking an easy option.
Those who like music can head to the Guca Trumpet Festival and Nisville Jazz Festival, while there is also a Roads of the Roman Emperors' tour carried out in conjunction with Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania, Ms Plamenec adds.
