Las Vegas could be the perfect destination for a new year's celebration.

Britons looking for a new year's party with a difference might want to head to Las Vegas.

The glitzy city offers a variety of ways to see in the new year, including an extravagant meal at one of its 17 Michelin-starred restaurants and dancing the night away at one of the many clubs and bars in the metropolis.

Those hoping to spot some celebrities on their break in Las Vegas might want to head to the Tao Nightclub at the Venetian, a new venue popular among the rich and famous.

Adventurous couples might want to take the plunge and get married on the hottest party night of the year, although those hoping to avoid the wedding chapel may prefer to take in a show and some fireworks instead.

Of course, Las Vegas is also known for its plethora of on and off-strip casinos, such as Caesars Palace and the Mirage.

However, travellers feeling lucky might want to think twice before blowing all of their cash as they will never see it again if they lose - and they will not be able to claim it back on their holiday insurance.
