Scotland-bound travellers may want to stay indoors to avoid being blown away by strong winds.
Any travel insurance customers considering going on a holiday north of the border in the coming weeks may want to prepare themselves for inclement weather, as parts of Scotland have been battered by 114mph winds.
The highest speeds were recorded in the Highlands - with the Cairngorms bearing the brunt of it over the weekend, the Daily Record reports.
Homes were blacked out, travel plans and journeys disrupted and roads closed around the country because of the gales, with wind speeds topping 80mph in Orkney. Here, 300 properties were left in the dark, while a weather station in Stirlingshire recorded blusters of 96mph.
Travellers making their way across the country will no doubt have found their progress hindered, with speed restrictions put in place on Saturday on the Tay, Clackmannanshire, Erskine, Friarton adn Skye bridges.
Furthermore, the Forth Road Bridge, the Erskine Bridge and the A9 Kessock Bridge were closed to high-sided vehicles, while some CalMac ferry routes were cancelled or disrupted, including services to Lewis and Skye.
Holidaymakers hoping to take in Edinburgh Castle may have been disappointed as well, since the attraction shut early on Saturday because of the weather.
It would seem that both tourists and locals alike will not be afforded much respite from the wind and rain just yet.
According to STV, flooding is likely in the south and west of Scotland this week, with police warning motorists to be careful when on Highland roads still affected by surface water.
Anyone on the Skye Bridge and the Kessock Bridge at Inverness should also take care when driving because of strong winds.
"After a stormy weekend we can expect more windy spells at times through this week. The wind shouldn't be as strong as we've seen in the last 48 hours," Sean Batty - STV's weatherman - remarked, comments that may well be reassuring to many.
