Large numbers of people could descend on the capital to catch a glimpse of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
A large number of people are expected to descend on London trying to catch a glimpse of the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29th next year.
Tom Hall, travel editor at Lonely Planet, has suggested the atmosphere and sense of occasion could prove a great tourist attraction for the capital and the weather could be quite pleasant too.
He said: "I won't be surprised if lots of people do decide to stay in the UK ... it is a great national occasion, where better to mark it than among some of the world famous sights of London?"
Locations such as Westminster Abbey - the venue for the nuptials - may be popular close to the date, but visitors should check opening times before setting off, as it may be closed to make preparations for the wedding of the couple.
Individuals looking for cheap travel insurance could do well to book their accommodation early, as London is likely to see increasing numbers of visitors from all over the world at the end of April and beginning of May.
Mr Hall added that this time of year could be suitable for exploring other parts of Britain, as well as the Big Smoke, as "it is green everywhere".
Visit Britain has backed up his claim that more tourists could arrive as a result of the wedding and revealed people from China, India, Brazil and Russia are keen to travel to the UK - and those from Malaysia and the Czech Republic would reportedly visit a royal site while on holiday abroad.
