Rome offers culture vultures a "winning combination"
Three of the top eurozone destinations for British travellers have been revealed as Italy, Spain and Greece.
An industry report from Cheapflights named the three countries as the most popular for UK holidaymakers.
"Corfu offers a sleep-easy style in ancient, lush environs," said Sharron Livingston, editor at thetravelmagazine.net.
The island destination experienced a 100 per cent increase in holiday searches according to the report.
"Ibiza has always been distinguished as a place for both rest and heady play," she added.
And Rome has a "winning combination" of gastronomy, stylish shops, religious sites and ancient Roman ruins, which "hits the spot for culture vultures", she continued.
Other popular destinations included Malta, Palma, Athens, Bodrum and Heraklion.
People wishing to make the most of their travel insurance still have time to fit in a summer break.
Youtravel reported in June that more than one-fifth of bookings made in the previous six weeks had been for holidays departing within four weeks.
