Relax in an Irish spa this summer, expert suggests

Category: Europe Travel Insurance News
Ireland has pretty scenery and relaxing spas

Ireland has plenty of beautiful spas in which tourists can relax and unwind, it is claimed.

Travel insurance policyholders looking for a relaxing break could consider a trip to Ireland.

There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy, as well as number of stunning walks in the beautiful countryside, explains Aoife Finnegan, spokeswoman for Discoverireland.com.

But those who would prefer to stay indoors can relax in one of the many spas dotted around the country.

Ms Finnegan says they have been categorised into destination or resort spas, which means "you know what you're getting before you go there".

A number of them are described by the representative as "really, really good", with high-class services and facilities.

"There's Monart, which is in Wexford, which is a fantastic spa and that's a destination spa - which caters for people just going for a chilled-out spa weekend and the treatments are amazing," Ms Finnegan continues.

Some holidaymakers would prefer to feel like they have earned a rest by doing some activity prior to their pampering.

If this is the case, hiking along a beach or taking a trip up the Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland may be the way forward.

Bushmills - which is Ireland's oldest working distillery in County Antrim - would be the ideal spot for a quick whiskey on the way back.

Individuals keen to cut themselves off from the outside world might head to Delphi Resort, which is on the west coast and has relatively poor mobile phone coverage, creating a "little rural retreat", Ms Finnegan notes.

The destination is found in a valley, where there is kayaking, a zipwire and a spa offering relaxing treatments.
