Lower accommodation costs can benefit holidaymakers planning a trip to Asia.
Holidaymakers with
travel insurance for breaks in Asia can benefit from falling accommodation costs.
Nigel Pocklington of hotels.com told Reuters that the site's latest Hotel Price Index (HPI) has seen costs dropping by 17 per cent in Asia, where the numbers of business travellers have been going down.
In the Caribbean, prices have remained relatively steady, however, falling by only one to two per cent.
The HPI index works by looking at what travellers really pay as opposed to the advertised prices.
Mr Pocklington said that it is a "fantastic time for travellers", adding: "Hotel prices have pretty much collapsed."
One reason he gave for the fall in costs in several regions was exchange rate instability.
In related news, In2Town magazine has given advice to people planning to take a break in Turkey.
The publication suggests that those arriving from western Europe fly rather than take trains, as this is quicker and more convenient.
Holiday Insurance from Direct Travel Insurance can cover a trip to Asia or other long-haul destinations all for a low price.
