Poole and Bournemouth 'join the eurozone'
Holidaymakers should head for Bournemouth and Poole this summer to make the most of their left over euros, a currency exchange site has said.
Everyone has a jar or sock drawer of spare coins that they have brought back from trips abroad, said Jeremy Cook, chief economist at World First.
He explained that for the majority of people, an expensive package holiday is "a luxury too far in these testing times," but people still needed to get away from the stresses of work and relax.
"Allowing Brits to exchange these for goods at south coast holiday resorts is a neat ploy to make a quick break that little [bit] cheaper," he added.
Some guesthouses and bed and breakfasts are accepting partial payments in euros, as are several pubs and restaurants.
According to VisitEngland, one in five people who travelled to a foreign destination for their holiday last year have said they would consider staying in the UK this year to save money and some 63 per cent of people anticipated taking a break in England in the next 12 months.
