Saadiyat Island will be the location for new hotels and attractions next year.
People looking to head to the United Arab Emirates next year might find they have more accommodation to choose from as a result of new hotels being built.
Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi - where the state's Formula One grand prix is held at the Yas Marina circuit - will be the location for a host of new buildings and some will be designed to host tourist attractions as well.
Versions of the Guggenheim and Louvre will be created and could prove a great excursion for visitors looking to experience some culture and entertainment during their stay.
Simon Venison, director of operations at Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC), said the development will be "unique", adding that the "iconic buildings [will be] so close together that you can visit the museums and then lie on the beaches in the afternoon".
He added that the Ferrari World theme park is worth a look, as is they Zayed National Museum, which could hold appeal for those looking for an educational break from their holiday.
And these are not the only structures that are in the pipeline for the region, as the TDIC is also working with its partners to make more than 1,600 hotel rooms available during 2011 and the St Regis brand is expected to launch in the Middle East with an Abu Dhabi outlet.
Single trip insurance policyholders might be interested to note that Abu Dhabi National Hotels is set to open another resort near the Saadiyat Beach Golf Course, which could be perfect for individuals looking to practice their swing while soaking up the rays and culture of the country.
