Get all the benefits of an authentic Thai massage without going further than Spain.
A new hotel spa on the Costa Blanca lets travellers experience south-east Asia without having to cope with a long-haul flight.
The five-star Barcelo Asia Gardens hotel - which is located close to Alicante - recently opened a Thai spa that offers eastern-style massages and other treatments given by professionals trained at the National School of Thai Massage in Bangkok.
Hotel guests and other visitors can enjoy Ayurvedic medicine, body peeling, hydrating treatments, bath therapies, reflexology and Reiki at the spa along with their Thai massage.
Each 60-minute spa treatment starts at £78 per person - and travellers may also want to consider taking out
holiday insurance should they come down with an ailment that cannot be treated at the spa.
"Our aim is to focus on harmony, ensuring an optimal flow and stimulating all the energy in the body of our clients, which allows the function of the four fundamental elements of the body to reach equilibrium," commented spa manager Rosa Sancho.
The hotel is situated near Denia, which celebrates the annual All Saints festival in the last week of October and the first week of November.
Visitors to the town during this period will find a large fairground in the Torrecremada Esplanda - perfect for those taking the kids away on a half-term holiday.
