Britons heading to North Carolina this summer can enjoy a host of new attractions.
North Carolina has launched a number of new attractions in time for the
summer.
Holidaymakers booking flights and
travel insurance for a trip to this part of the US will be able to visit the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte and the International Civil Rights Center & Museum, which opened in Greensboro in February.
The newly-expanded North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh might also appeal to culture vultures, while the tallest, fastest and longest rollercoaster in the south-east of the US, the Intimidator, may add extra excitement to a visit to the Carowinds theme park.
"From outdoor recreation and unique lodging to arts and culture and fine dining, the charming small towns and vibrant urban locations of North Carolina offer something for everyone," says the North Carolina tourism division.
Those looking to plan their trip to coincide with some of the state's major festivals might want to consider the Highland Games in July or the Pirate Invasion event in August.
