One expert has encouraged more women to book a holiday to Thailand.
More women might find themselves booking a holiday to one Asian nation as a result of an expert's comments.
Joanna Cooke, consumer marketing and PR manager for Tourism Thailand, explained why the organisation is looking to encourage more females to visit the country.
"Thailand has got lots of female-friendly activities like shopping and spas and the beaches," she said.
Indeed, families might find the destination suitable too and parents should be encouraged by the experiences they will find.
Many travellers to Thailand make their way from Europe - approximately 830,000 last year - and plenty from the UK and Ireland too, as Ms Cooke points out, tourists from the latter pair have put the countries sixth in the number of people visiting the Asian destination.
Those looking to book a honeymoon in an exotic location could also be in luck as this industry is "growing", according to the expert.
Many people over the age of 45 also arrange trips to Thailand - which may surprise anyone who holds the view that it is popular with young backpackers.
However, Ms Cooke concludes that no matter what the age of the party, those searching for a relaxing holiday are sure to find the region suitable as it is "mainly a beach destination".
Her comments come in response to figures that show more travellers are searching for cheap flights to Thailand and more than 7.5 million sun-seekers arrived during January and June this year, according to the country's tourism ministry.
Anyone booking a trip abroad should invest in sufficient
travel insurance to cover them should the worst happen.
