Tourists wanting to visit Belgium have been advised there is more to see in the country than a city break.
Belgium has more to offer tourists than a range of city breaks, according to the Belgian Tourist Office - Brussels and Wallonia.
Francoise Scheepers, UK and Ireland director for the organisation, stated that Brussels, Antwerp and Bruges are "renowned" for offering interesting holidays.
She explained the European nation offers one of the best lifestyles on the planet, as well as boasting a range of historical locations to visit during a break.
Brussels and Wallonia were described as being very affordable for people from the UK to travel to - with the former area on the Eurostar line, meaning travellers can reach the city within a couple of hours from London.
"Wallonia offers a whole range of activities in an unspoilt setting, from motor racing on the most beautiful Formula One racetrack to beautiful golf courses," commented Ms Schleepers, who said the south of Belgium is the place to go for those in the know.
She explained this is due to the its reputation as being "laid-back and hedonist-friendly", which could make it an attractive destination for people from the UK who are bored with going to the usual haunts, such as Amsterdam, Prague and Bratislava.
Fans of motor racing are particularly likely to be plotting trips to Belgium in the near future, as the Formula One calendar is soon coming to the European country.
The famous Spa-Francorchamps race - which often features rain on some areas of the track, while others are basking in baking sunshine - will be held on August 28th, with German driver Sebastian Vettel looking to close in on the championship title.
