Holidaymakers are increasingly spending up to a week in Singapore as opposed to seeing the destination as just a stopover, according to the city-state's tourism board.
Singapore is increasingly being seen as a destination for week-long holidays rather than simply a stopover, it has been suggested.
According to Eunice Yeo, area director for northern and western Europe at the Singapore Tourism Board, more and more travellers are spending several days in the island city-state as a growing number of attractions open in the area.
"We've seen new things coming up we have the Singapore Flyer, which is the same as the London Eye, just a bit bigger," he remarked.
He went on to add that 2010 will see Singapore host Formula One racing for the third time.
The comments came shortly after the Singapore Tourism Board launched a new marketing campaign to attract more people to the city-state.
Britons booking flights and
travel insurance for a trip to Singapore will be able to take in sights such as the districts of Chinatown and Little India, as well as Orchard Road's shops and restaurants serving cuisine ranging from Malay and Chinese food to Indian and fusion feasts.
