An expert believes that Marrakesh will become one of the world's hottest shopping locations after the release of Sex and the City 2.
Marrakesh is set to become a tourist hotspot following the release of the Sex and the City2 film on Thursday (May 27th).
In the new movie blockbuster, Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, and friends travel to Abu Dhabi on holiday but the scenes, which show picturesque locations and luxurious hotels, are actually filmed in the Moroccan city.
According to Katharine Leck, managing director of Berlitz Publishing, Marrakesh is already "one of the world's hippest cities" but will now become a sought-after hot shopping location too.
Ms Leck continued to say that shopaholics are well catered for in the vibrant city with its "maze of souks offering everything from rugs, furniture, jewellery, antiques, art, and books".
Meanwhile, for those eager to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, a day trip to the old fishing port of Essaouria is highly recommended, while walking in the Ourika Valley can also provide some idyllic relief from the stress of the inner-urban area.
Anyone considering visiting Marrakesh should take out
travel insurance before leaving the UK.
