Managers urged to book a last-minute summer getaway
People who work in senior management should make the most of their annual travel insurance policies and get away from the office, a management professional body has advised.
"Holidays are vital because what they do is they refresh your energy and they enable you to refocus," said Mike Petrook, spokesperson for the Chartered Management Institute.
Mr Petrook went on to say that there was evidence to support the fact that people often end up making mistakes at work through lack of energy and tiredness.
Research from the company found that some 40 per cent of managers in the UK have not made plans to take a break this summer holiday season.
A fifth of British managers confessed to not being able to "let go" when taking a break and 72 per cent worry about deadlines and clients when away from the office.
Darren McCormick, head of aviation at Travel Counsellors, said in a recent report that now was a better time than ever for finding last-minute bargain breaks.
The number of people making a late holiday booking has risen by 20 per cent over the last six weeks, according to a youtravel.com report published on June 24th.
