Family holidays may be more popular with Brits looking to escape the UK's unreliable weather this year, the editor of France magazine has commented.
There has been a "resurgence" in the number of families taking a holiday in France, according to the editor of a magazine about the country.
Carolyn Boyd of France magazine commented that the country is a good location for families who took a "staycation" last year but were put off by the unreliable British weather.
Instead, she suggested that a mobile home or camping holiday in France could be a wiser option, adding that a favourable exchange rate and the promise of good food are also appealing.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office advises that all British holidaymakers obtain comprehensive
travel insurance cover before heading to France.
It also noted that if holidaymakers plan on driving while in France, they are required to carry a reflective jacket and warning triangle in their vehicle.
A consumer poll carried out by Simonseeks.com suggested that 56 per cent of the people who took a staycation in the UK plan to travel abroad in 2010, with popular destinations tipped to be France, Spain and the US.
