Single trip insurance policy holders will soon be able to enjoy a safari adventure in style.
Travellers who have purchased
single trip insurance policies in order to go on safari in Namibia may be pleased to hear that construction has begun on the first luxury camp in the region.
Etambura Camp is to be owned by local communities and run by Conservancy Safaris, situated in a 3,565 sq km region and surrounded by dry river beds, hills, mountains and plains.
There are to be five en suite tents - each boasting a private deck - near a lapa area that, the company observed, is "the perfect setting to enjoy a good meal, watch the sun set whilst the moon rises and marvel at the endless expanse of a starry sky".
It is to be open for bookings at the start of August, with 100 per cent of all takings going to the local Herero and Himba people.
Conservancy Safaris has resulted in the co-existence of people and animals, with the semi-nomadic tribes taking on the role of custodians of wild beasts and natural resources, even going so far as to establish tree guards.
