Holidaymakers heading to Paris should look beyond the likes of the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre to get the most from their stay, an expert recommends.
Britons visiting Paris on their next holiday should consider heading to attractions that are perhaps not as well-known as the likes of the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower.
This is according to Veronique Potelet Anty of the Paris Office du Tourisme et des Congres, who explains that while these headline sights are ideal for those who have never visited the French capital before, more experienced travellers may want to seek out smaller ones.
She explains that the City Hall of Paris owns 50 museums offering a variety of free exhibitions, while specialist tours such as those focusing on the city's' culinary offerings may also be appealing to visitors who have been to Paris before.
"Most of the time people think they know about Paris, but they only know a tiny part of the city," Ms Anty says.
"There is lots more to discover."
She adds that Paris is particularly well connected in terms of transport to and from the UK.
However, those worried about potential travel delays may want to take out
holiday insurance just in case.
The Eurostar train service suffered severe delays and cancellations late last year as icy weather took hold in the run-up to Christmas.
