Next year will see Britons flock to far-flung holiday destinations, according to ebookers.com.
Current booking trends suggest that long-haul travel destinations will be particularly popular next year, according to one travel firm.
A forecast by ebookers.com suggests that some of the top holiday hotspots for 2010 will include Honolulu, Miami, Cape Town, Las Vegas, New York, Orlando and Dubai.
Other hot destinations will also consist of Istanbul, Rome and Venice.
According to ebookers.com, the dominance of long-haul locations in the list points to optimism over the economy's recovery.
"People are still visiting old favourites such as New York and Rome, but ... travellers are keen to head further afield to the cultural hotspot of Istanbul and the sun kissed beaches of the States," said Ben Reynolds, head of marketing for ebookers.com.
Travel insurance may be a good idea for those travelling long-haul in case of issues such as lost luggage.
According to Lonely Planet, other top destinations for 2010 include Western Australia and New Zealand, along with regions such as Goa, the Koh Kong Conservation Corridor, Alsace, Bali, Fernando de Noronha, Lake Baikal, Oaxaca, southern Africa and the Lake District.
