London 'Britain's top May Day travel destination'
London has topped a list of the most popular May Day holiday flight destinations for Brits this year, it has been reported.
It took the title from Amsterdam, which was the most popular destination in 2008, according to Skyscanner figures.
The company's chief executive Gareth Williams explained the weak pound was likely to have had an impact on the results.
"However, Skyscanner's data clearly shows that people aren't being put off the eurozone. The rest of the top ten are all euro destinations," he said.
Other destinations expecting to welcome British travel insurance customers over the bank holiday weekend are Malaga, Alicante and Barcelona.
Those who do travel to the capital may be tempted to head to one of the Museums at Night London events, which take place on May 15th, 16th and 17th.
Visitors to attractions such as the National Gallery will be able to attend an extended programme of events in the Lates series, according to viewlondon.co.uk.
Even if you’re travelling within the UK, holiday insurance from Direct Travel Insurance is still a sensible purchase as the expense of dealing with issues on a holiday can be costly in any country.
