Britons considering a holiday to France might want to visit the Midi-Pyrenees, which has numerous attractions, according to the region's tourism board.
There is much to see and do for travellers visiting the Midi-Pyrenees, France's largest region, according to one expert.
Solenne Odon of the Midi-Pyrenees Regional Tourism Committee explained that some of the highlights of a trip to the area include its various music festivals, natural scenery, mountain terrain and caves containing prehistoric art.
Food and drink is also a big draw for holidaymakers booking their
travel insurance for a getaway to this part of France, as are cities such as Toulouse and Albi.
"If you don't have a car, you can use [the] train because there are a lot of regional connections. You can also cycle and enjoy the nature and the little towns," Ms Odon remarked.
Toulouse-Blagnac Airport reported last month that it saw 1.7 per cent more people travel through the hub in January 2010 compared with the same month last year.
International traffic in particular rose by 6.2 per cent over the period, it said.
