Kuala Lumpur is the cheapest holiday destination for Britons to visit, according to a new survey.
New research has suggested that bargain-hunting Britons may want to head to Kuala Lumpur on their next getaway.
According to STA Travel, the typical cost of a pint of beer, a local restaurant meal, a night in a hostel, a bus trip and a sightseeing tour in the Malaysian capital comes to £13.09.
Other low-cost destinations were found to include Hanoi in Vietnam and Seoul in South Korea, along with Mexico City, Beijing in China, Bangkok in Thailand and Istanbul in Turkey.
Rounding off the top eight was Cape Town in South Africa - the host of this year's World Cup - with a price of £31.68.
"With the eurozone set to be one of the most expensive regions in which to holiday, Brits will need to look further afield to secure a bargain whilst away and make their pound go further," commented John Constable, group managing director of STA Travel.
Britons looking to lower the cost of a holiday abroad may want to look for cheap
travel insurance - especially as medical expenses in certain countries can run into tens of thousands of pounds without such cover.
