Kenya has numerous sporting events, such as a marathon that involves spotting the country's famous animals.
Travel insurance policyholders keen to head to Kenya for a unique holiday should find plenty to keep them busy once they arrive.
Angie Sloan, director of Kenya Tourist Board for UK and Ireland, explains there are many "interesting traditions" on the country's events calendar, as well as festivals and sporting occasions to enjoy.
For example, the Open Golf Championships take place on an annual basis, with 150 competitors flocking to the nation to take part.
An off-road motorsport contest called the Rhino Charge also occurs every year and is expected to draw crowds to its next event in June 2012.
One of Kenya's popular sporting traditions is the Safaricom marathon and half marathon in June, where participants must share the route with animals such as giraffe, zebra and elephants.
Ms Sloan continues: "The wildebeest migration takes place between July and October.
"Visitors watch in awe as the river banks swell and burst with wildebeest as they storm down the river bank to reach the green grass on the other side, certainly a sight not to be missed."
Finally, the Rift Valley Festival in September will also showcase local arts, crafts and culture of the area, with bands from the region lining up.
It will celebrate its third year in 2010 and Ms Sloan believes this will be a "popular highlight".
In previous comments made by the representative, she urged visitors to ensure they see the "big five" during their stay in the nation and said this can be done by enjoying a safari.
