Italy has been identified as the most inspiring holiday destination in a recent survey.
Italy is the holiday destination deemed to be most inspiring by British travellers, according to a new survey.
The research, conducted by air freshener firm Ambi Pur, found that Italy's famous art, cuisine, culture and rich history make it appealing to holidaymakers from the UK.
It also found that travellers tend to bring inspiration from their holidays abroad back home when their adventures are over.
Some 37 per cent of people decided to redecorate their home after returning from a trip, while 26 per cent started looking for a job and 18 per cent planned to move house.
Anyone planning a trip to Italy should obtain comprehensive medical and
travel insurance before they set off, according to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
The office also advised holidaymakers in Italy to avoid making purchases from illegal street traders when shopping for souvenirs, as this could result in incurring a large fine from the local police.
