Italian capital 'will have travellers hooked'
Rome is a travel destination "that doesn't need to try hard to impress", a flight comparison site has reported.
Picked as a favourite destination of the week by Skyscanner, the Italian capital has a lot on offer for travel insurance customers looking for cultural entertainment, it wrote.
"Rome is anything and everything you want it to be," it said.
It added travellers can get lost in the history of its Roman past, follow in the footsteps of stars of the silver screen such as Audrey Hepburn and be "blown away by the vibrance and glorious energy" of the modern European city.
The site suggests stopping to people-watch in the Piazza del Popolo and to have lunch in the Piazza Navona - which is says is the best square in Europe to do so.
According to Lonely Planet, tourists to the city will be "hooked" after one visit as all of the city's museums are out in the open in the streets.
