'It is still possible' to find a good holiday deal
Holidaymakers who have not yet booked their summer break can still find a good last minute deal, a holiday company has said.
"There is plenty of availability about with decent prices to a range of destinations where the capacity is there and it needs to be sold," said Bob Atkinson, travel expert at travelsupermarket.com.
Holidays manager from the company Kayte Williams advised people to be flexible with their travel dates - as mid-week flights can be cheaper - and to look at the cost of living at the holiday destination to get the best deal possible.
Mr Atkinson went on to say that the peak holiday season was getting closer and he added it would be hard to tell how much would remain cheap going into the main summer months.
According to research from VisitEngland, 90 per cent of Brits said they would be cutting back on their holiday spending this year and some one in five people who went to a foreign destination in 2008 said they would think about changing to the UK this summer to save money.
Cheap travel insurance from Direct Travel Insurance could be one way to keep total holiday expenditure down.
