Ireland could be the ideal destination for older holidaymakers this year with a host of reduced-rate deals for people aged over 66.
Older holidaymakers can enjoy Ireland at knock-down prices this
summer thanks to a new special offer.
As part of its Silver Surfers
Summer Saving scheme, Discover Ireland is offering pensioners the opportunity of a bargain visit to the emerald isle with a range of two-for-one and reduced-rate deals on attractions and accommodation for people over the age of 66.
The scheme runs until August 31st and offers "outstanding value for money" according to Shaun Rodgers, managing director of Real Ireland.
Mr Rodgers added that the cost of visiting Ireland for a holiday has dropped by up to 40 per cent anyway this year in comparison to 2009, meaning that over-66s could enjoy a relaxing break in the island's most idyllic spots for next to nothing over the coming months.
Highly recommended places to visit for older holidaymakers include Donegal due to its easy access to the country's largest national park - Glenveagh - and the cliffs at Slieve League, which offer "an incredible view", according to Mr Rodgers.
It is advisable for anyone thinking of going to Ireland this
summer to take out
travel insurance before leaving home.
