The growing number of flights from the UK to Malta will increase accessibility to the country for Britons, according to one expert.
British holidaymakers will be able to get to Malta more easily thanks to the increasing number of flights running from the UK to the European nation.
This is according to Malta Tourism Authority UK and Ireland director Alex Incorvaja, who said that the country is always a good destination for Britons looking to escape the cold UK winter.
Visitor numbers are expected to increase next year when airlines such as Ryanair, bmibaby and Air Malta launch more flights to the island, he explained.
"It's the history and culture of the islands - and of course their breathtaking beauty - that provide one of the biggest attractions to Brits," Mr Incorvaja added.
Some of the most popular active pursuits to enjoy while in Malta include rock climbing, cycling, hiking, yachting and abseiling, according to the expert - although
travel insurance may be advisable for such activities.
Low-cost flights to Malta from the UK have seen a more than 100 per cent increase in 2009 thanks to increased services by easyJet and Ryanair.
