Holiday partners who are lazy and tight with their money were not popular among British travellers, it has been revealed.
Travel insurance holders looking to be popular with their holiday partner on a break may wish to avoid long lie-ins and adopt a laidback attitude.
According to research carried out by Santander, 54 per cent of travellers polled said they would want their travel companion to make them laugh, and 50 per cent admitted they would like to holiday with someone who is intelligent.
Brits stated that they would most like to travel with a partner (65 per cent) but other popular companions included favourite celebrities, work colleagues, friends and family.
"With people spending so much of their lives at work, it's perhaps not as surprising as it may first seem that nearly half a million Britons would choose a work colleague as their ideal holiday companion," noted Emma Walkley, bank account manager at Abbey.
Recently, a study carried out by the Association of British Insurers found that of those who do not take out a travel insurance policy when they take a break, 20 per cent claim they simply forgot. However, 54 per cent admitted that it had not crossed their minds.
